Fire Department Commends United Ambulance
LEWISTON: The Lewiston Fire Department recently
commended United Ambulance for its $1,100 donation
towards the Department's Automated External Defibrillator
(AED) Upgrade Initiative. Automated external
defibrillators are designed to restore a normal heartbeat
following a life-threatening rhythm disturbance.
In a commendation letter to United, Fire Chief LeClair
stated, "United Ambulance has led the way within the
community in support of AED deployment and the positive
impact that these devices have had. The citizens
of Lewiston are fortunate to have a company as dedicated
and giving as United Ambulance."
Leclair went on to explain how beneficial the donation
was to the upgrade project, "United's generous donation
allowed us to complete our upgrade process within
this current budget year. Our department needed
to upgrade a total of five AEDs, and towards that
goal, we upgraded two in our last budget and another
two within this budget. The $1,100 donation enabled
us to upgrade the fifth unit."
