Ambulance Donates Wheelchair Vans
United
Ambulance Service has recently donated two wheelchair
vans to local families. One van, a 1994 Ford Club
Wagon was donated to Mark and Kathy Michaud of Auburn
. For the past few years Mark has been battling Multiple
Sclerosis (MS). In July of this year, Mark's condition
worsened causing him to become confined to a wheelchair.
The
second van, a 1996 Ford Club Wagon was donated to
Manoli Swanson of Turner. Ms. Swanson was in need
of a van in order to transport her son, Gunner Swanson.
Gunner is nine years old and is diagnosed with Cerebral
Palsy.
Both
families will be using their van to transport their
family member(s) to various doctors' appointments
and activities that would have otherwise been difficult
to accomplish without this donation. “We were fortunate
that we were in a position to be able to donate these
vans” replied Kevin Thomas, Wheelchair Supervisor.
