United Coloring Contest Winners 2010
In May, third grade students from Auburn and Lewiston elementary schools participated in United Ambulance Service’s Sixth Annual Coloring Contest. The contest was developed in efforts to celebrate National EMS Week.
The contest involved over 120 students from Martel Elementary School, Montello Elementary School and Sherwood Heights Elementary School.
Students were asked to draw a portrait based on “What they think of” when they hear the words: EMS (Emergency Medical Services); EMT (Emergency Medical Technician); Paramedic; United Ambulance and hospital.
All the portraits that were submitted to United Ambulance Service were presented to employees, who picked the “Top Five”, as well as five portraits which received “Participation Awards”.
The “Top Five Portraits” were: First, Angelina Thomas, Martel; Second, Erin Fournier, Sherwood Heights; Third, Mickayla Friel, Montello; Fourth, Hayden Bavis, Montello and Fifth, Alicia Pelletier, Montello.
“Participation Awards” were given to: Alex Beliveau, Sherwood Heights; Camryn LeBlanc, Martel; Cooper Millett, Martel; Dominic Ouellette, Martel and an anonymous third grade student from Martel School.
All the portraits, with the exception of those listed above, were donated to area nursing facilities so they could be shared with residents.
