United
Ambulance Donates Ambulance to Sabattus Fire Department
On
Wednesday, May 24 th , United Ambulance Service donated
a 1997 Horton Type III ambulance to the Sabattus Fire
Department. The department is excited about this donation
as the new vehicle replaces the current “Squad 8”
which is a 1988 Ford. “Squad
8” is mainly used as a utility vehicle as it carries
necessary equipment to a array
of emergency situations.
Paul
Gosselin, Executive Director for United, is pleased
that the vehicle can be utilized for a purpose other
than transporting patients. This donation is the second
of its kind as United donated a similar ambulance
to the Greene Fire Department in 2003.
United
Ambulance Service has been the primary Emergency Medical
Provider for the Town of Sabattus for the past 25
years. In 2005, United responded to 330 emergency
calls and transported 240 patients as a result. If
