United Employee Awarded Maine EMS Merit Award
One of United Ambulance Service’s EMS Providers was recognized at the 2008 Maine EMS System Awards presentation at the State House Hall of Flags on Tuesday, May 20th.
EMT-Intermediate Gerry Pineau was presented with a “Merit Award” for his hard work and dedication in the EMS community during the last year. The Maine EMS website describes the criteria for this award as one “conferred to those who have made an exceptional contribution to the EMS system at the local or regional level and who have demonstrated involvement and contribution in one or more areas of EMS activity”.
Gerry has been employed with United Ambulance Service since April of 2001 and has participated in various responsibilities and patient care activities during those years. Gerry’s most recent accomplishments include a position as the Chairman of United’s All Hazard’s Committee which was tasked with redesigning United’s response procedures/planning to be implemented during a Mass Casualty Incident (MCI). In addition to the design and implementation of this plan, the committee provided training for many of the local public service agencies located throughout United’s coverage area.
