United provides medical transportation for patients requiring such service in order to attend doctors appointments, diagnostic tests and treatments, etc. These calls for service are usually routine in nature and require little intervention during the transport. While most of these transports are from local hospitals and healthcare facilities we are also able to handle long distance transfers if requested.

In addition to our BLS services we also handle a significant number of Advanced Life Support transfers on a daily basis. These transfers require a Paramedic who is trained to manage an acute patient. In most cases our Paramedics transfer patients with IV Medications and Cardiac Monitoring as outlined in the Maine EMS Inter-facility Module.
