United Wheelchair Service in conjunction with United Ambulance Service is an alternative means of transportation for patients who are unable to drive themselves to medical appointments and of whom do not require ambulance transportation. This service is available to Maine Medicaid Program recipients and to those patients wishing to arrange a Private Pay billing option.

We own and operate a fleet of 23 Ford E350 Wheelchair Vans. Each van is capable of transporting 2 wheelchair patients as well as 4 ambulatory patients. Each of our vehicles is staffed with one operator of whom is trained in Basic CPR and First Aid.
(Note: No medical care is given during wheelchair transports.)
