This is a very fast-paced course, utilizing an online platform to enhance learning and classroom activities. This course requires the student to be self-directed and complete reading assignments and online coursework prior to class each week. A laptop is required and must be brought to class each day.  Mornings will consist of lecture, and afternoons will consist of lab.
 
Time Requirement: Students can expect to spend a minimum of 14-16 hours each week, at home, completing the required reading, assignments, and skills documentation.
 
Schedule:
Class will meet on the following dates from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm:

Attendance is expected, in person, at all classes.

 
This course prepares students for the entrance level to work on an ambulance. The course covers Ambulance Operations, Airway Management, Patient Assessment, Medical Emergencies, Trauma Emergencies, Pediatric Emergencies and Operations. 

Clinical rotations are an optional part of this course.  Students participating in clinical rotations will need to submit proof of all required immunizations.  Further information regarding immunization requirements will be provided in class.

United's Education Division is a Maine-EMS approved Training Center.

United Training Center does not issue college credit for this program.  College credit may be achieved through articulation agreements.  Please contact us for more information.

Students who successfully complete this course are eligible to sit for the National Registry Advanced EMT Written Exam.

NREMT Cognitive Exam fees are not included in the cost of this course.  NREMT  Cognitive Exams are not offered on site.  Once the student has successfully completed the course, to include clinicals, the student must schedule their NREMT Cognitive exam through the NREMT/Pearson Vue website. 

This is a fast-paced course, utilizing an online platform to enhance learning and classroom activities.  A laptop with internet access is required for participation in this course.  Each class will consist of lecture in the morning and lab in the afternoon. 

Students can expect to spend a minimum of 12-16 hours per week doing the required reading, assignments, and lab documentation.

Class will meet on the following Wednesdays, from 8:00 am - 4:30 pm.

Attendance is expected, in person, at all classes.


Students must provide proof of required immunizations prior to starting clinical rotations. Clinical will run concurrent with the course and you will be given an additional 60 days after the last day of class to finish up any incomplete clinical experiences. A minimum of 150 clinical hours are required.  Additional clinical time may be required to complete the clinical objectives.

Payment/Application/Interview Process: Students will be sent the Application Packet after paying the $200 Non-Refundable Application Fee.  Completed Application Packets must be submitted no later than June 1, 2024.   All candidates who submit a completed Application Packet will be scheduled for an interview.  Interviews will be held through the end of June 2024.  Students accepted into the program will be notified by July 10, 2024 of their acceptance.  Students who were interviewed, but not accepted, will be placed on a Wait List. The Non-Refundable Course Deposit of $1500 is due on August 31, 2024, for all students accepted into the program.  The Course Tuition of $12,200 is due by September 30, 2024. 

Tuition assistance may be available to those who qualify by visiting and creating an individual funding request through the Department of Labor.
