ABOUT THE CENTER

United Training Center offers a wide selection of pre-hospital and occupational courses. Our dedicated and highly qualified team of instructors are passionate about delivering the highest quality training to all types of learners. We offer courses both in our state-of-the-art training facility and in other locations across the state.

United Training Center is an authorized NAEMT Training Center, Maine EMS authorized Training Center, and CAAHEP Accredited.

ADMINISTRATION

Richard V. D'Alessandro, M.D.

United Training Center Medical Director

Dr. D’Alessandro graduated from the George Washington University Washington DC in 1996. Dr. Dalessandro works in Lewiston, ME and 3 other locations and specializes in Emergency Medicine. Dr. D’Alessandro is affiliated with Central Maine Medical Center and Rumford Hospital. Dr. D’Alessandro service as the medical director for United Ambulance Service and United Training Center.

Heather Sylvester, BS/NRP-Paramedic/IC

Education Manager

Heather graduated from the University of Maine at Farmington in 2000 with a Bachelor's Degree in Special Education, with a concentration in Pyschology.

After joining West Forks Fire and Rescue Department in 2011, she developed a strong interest in emergency medical services through her involvement in EMS calls. This encouraged her to pursue her EMT certification.

Heather earned her EMT license in 2016 and continued advancing her career, obtaining her AEMT license in 2017 and her Paramedic license in 2021.

Maintaining a passion for education throughout her career, Heather joined United Training Center as an instructor in 2024, where she taught courses in Lewiston and Greenville. In March 2026 she assumed the role of Education Manager.
